By Telegraph— P-ess ASMtiiUiOK Christchurch, June 12. The Christchurch Fund for the Relief of British Sailors' Dependants noff — amounts to nearly eight thousand pounds, "the; 'Tress" list totalling over which has been subscribed since Thursday.
Dr. Levinge has telegraphed to the Prime Minister suggesting that the Government should' take a royalty from all moving picture films connected,with the North Sea naval victory that come to New Zealand, and devote the proceeds of the royalty to the Fund for' the Relief of British Sailors' Dependants. At a meeting of the Navy League War. Fund Committee this morning, it was resolved to send .£SOOO to London as soon as a reply was received as to tho name of the fund providing for dependants of men of the Royal Navy. It was also decided to telegraph to the Prime Minister as follows'"Hope you" will accede to tho suggestion regarding Toyalty on naval films shown in New Zealand, also trust the money you are receiving will be foi dependants of all naval men lost during the war, not only in the Jutland battle. We sincerely hope the Government will subsidise, all private donations .£ for £ as from the commencement of the fund."
