Ihe animal report to be submitted at the Wellington liennel'Club's meeting on June li congratulates members on the satisfactory position in which the club continues, The annual show, held in August last, was a great success. The Fox Terrier Club of Wellington, whose trophies were again competed {or at the club's show, drew a number of entries in this breed, and the committee extend thanks to this club for its generous support. The British Bulldog Club's trophies and challenge shield were also allotted to Wellington, and drew a large number entries. Thanks are extended this club'for its kindly assistance. Other specialist clubs are also thanked for' assistance" given by them. The thanks, of the club are specially duo to Messrs. Paul Hunter, B. G. Makin, P. E. Watson, and 11. Crompton, who acted as judges at the show, and the club wishes to express gratitude to all those who generously give donations and specials during the year, also to Mr. S. George Nathan, who placed his room at the convenience of the club for committee meetings. ' The oomiuittee specially thanks Mr. Geo. Lewis, of Christchurch, for his handsome gift to the club of a Pomeranian pup, which was sold on the last night of the show. The proceeds of this sale, together with a subsidy from the club's funds, enabled the club to donate ten guineas to the T.M.C.A. NationaK War Fund.. Fourteen members, including two of the committee, are at present on active service. Benching on hand- 1 estimated at •,£7O lis. at the beginning of the year has been written off ten per cent, as usual; The New Zealand Kennel Club advise the following challenge classes for the forthcoming show, viz.:—Pugs (fawn and black), Irish setters, Borzois, bull terriers, Pomeranians, and. St. Bernards.
