Chfistchurch, June 9. Captain Pearson, of the Opouri, from Greymouth, reports passing in Cook Strait a twin-screw scow, floating bottom up—presumably the Southern Isles, which was lost on Farewell Spit. A. white flag was fastened to the pole of the sternpost, but'the wreck is not visible at night, being just awash. The position given is: Stephens Island bears east, a quarter north magnetic, 24i miles.
