SUNDAY CONCERT

Ihe Professional Orchestra, under the laton. of Mr. Herbert Bloy, gave another of their popular Sunday'concerts at His Majesty's Theatre last evening. Tho programme opened with the overture from "Wiliam Tell" (Rossini), which was particularly well handled by the orchestra. The opening andante for five 'collos, ■which is intended to convey tho idea of glorious summer , sunrise in . the Alps, .was played with considerable understandujSi the leading part being takon by Mr. Hilliker. a number of considerable interest was tho "Concerto in G Minor" for violin and orchestra. Mr. Haydn Beck was capably accompanied by tho orchestra in his solo work, which throughout fully displayed the finished technique of _ the artist. Tho concerto is most effectively adapted for displaying the resources of tho violin, ana was played throughout with considerable artistic effect. A sextet from "Lucia di Lammermoor" was played" by the orchestra with considerable dramatic force, and the gavotte from "Mignon" was daintily treated. An interesting programme wa9 concluded by tho playing of bvendsen's "Norwegian Carnival."
