GAMES AT KARORI I'ABK, The iirst of the men's hockey games for tho season under the new class—(ill under 21—look place at Knrori Park on Saturday. There were- to bo two games played', 'but St. Augustine's, owing to • not being able to get together a team, deinulled to Ilu K Valloy. Throo games took place—two senior and one junior—and, although the winning scores were .high in all cases, the games were keenly (ought out. The results follow.— Knrori v. Univeitiity. The gamo between Karori and 'Varsity was for tlio most part uninteresting and scrappy. Neither side was particularly conversant lyitli the rules of the game, and that, added to the fact that University played without a goal-keeper, kept the referee busy with, the whistle. Tho first spell ended with one goal on tl>a register, and thiat for Karon, scored by S. Sunley. Karori added two more goals to tlieir score, and the game ended: Karori 3, University 0. Sunley scored another goal for his side, the o'tlier being netted .by Richards. LADIES' GAMES. ■'Varsity v. Public Trust. The University team had much) the better of it in their contest with Public Trust. Public Trust played spiritedly, but tliey lacked combination—a point in which. the Greens were particularly strong. Miss Mander (centre forward), for 'Varsity, played an excellent game, and registered two goats. The game ended: 'Varsity .7, Public Trust 0. Misses Hayes, Hillard, Ellis (2), Mander (2), and Wallace scored goals. Mr. Murphy was referee. College v. Ramblers. A free open "go" was the result of the meeting of Wellington Girls' College and Ramblers. The College girls played a hard, .vimful game, but they had not the finish to their gamo 'that tho Ramblers had, and so ivero beaten. The game ended: Ramblers G, Girls' Collego 1. Miss "Williams scored four goals for Ramblers, and Miss Lang scored two. Miss Mather scored the only goal for the other side. Mr. Lloyd was referee. Junior. Ramblers, playing four short, were rather easy victims for Girls' College, who scored' eight goals to their opponents' nil.
