FOR SAILORS' DEPENDANTS.

The' Canterbury Park Trotting Club to-day voted .£250 to the British Sailors' Dependants' Fund, and .£25 to the Minesweepers'' Fund. ' . „ The Canterbury Chamber of Commerce voted .£SO to the British Sailors' Dependants' Belief Fund, and passed a motion recommending the Government to place on the Estimates for the coming year a sum of not less than .£IOO,OOO, to .bo used for the benefit of wounded soldiers •and dependants of those fallen in the naval engagements up to the present and to the end of the war. - The Lyttelton Sailors' Society to-day cabled ITome .£SOO to . assist needy cases among the mine-sweepers as a result-of the naval battle. , •
