MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Messrs. W. n. Coy, and Jas. B. Speed, J.P.'s, dealt with, several cases at the Magistrate's Court oil Saturday morning. Percival Richard Waddy, who appeared in a sergeant's uniform, expressed his regret at having lapsed into inebriety, and aslced to be allowed to return aa speedily as possible to headquartors, where ho n;ould be severely punished. The Justices convicted and discharged him.
•Tames Burns, for a similar offence, was filled 205.. ot in default seven days' imprisonment, and two first offenders wero convicted and discharged. Alfred Leonard Ford, a soldier, .was charged with'deserting from the Expeditionary Forces. At the. suggestion of Inspector Hendrey, tho Justices ordered Ford to be handed over to tho military authorities to be dealt with.
Three young men,' George Edward Lowe. Harold Gray, and William Irvine, were charged with deserting, from the s.s, Warrimoo on June 2. They pleaded guilty. They wero ordered to pay 7s. each Court costs, and to bo handed over by the police to the captain of the ship.
