N.Z.PATRIOTIC SOCIETY.
WELLINGTON BRANCHMEETS. The weekly meeting of the Wellington Branch of the Now Zealand Patriotic Society .was held on Wednesday, when Councillor G. Frost occupied tho chair. Mr. Wilford's Parliamentary duties prevented his attendance. . The secretary (Mr. J. Lewis) reported that arrangements for the Empire Sun. day Church Parade were well in hand, and that Colonel Gibbon and Colonel Potter liad kindly offered to assist the society in every way possiblo to make the function one'worthy of the object. Colonel Potter had offered the services of the camp band, and had alEo promised to give special leave to ICOO men from l'rentham and Peatherston Camps, so as to afford them an opportunity to attend the parade. Tho following bands havo also notified their intention of taking part: Central Mission, Salvation Army, New Zealand Natives', Tho Patriotic Society, sth Regiment.
The Waterside ' Workers wrote, regretting their inability to take part, owing to their band being completely disorganised through most of the members having enlisted. Mr. E. ,T. Colley reported that Mr. Willoughby, of Grace Bros., had offered to make a payment of -E29 13s. 4d. per annum during the duration of the war on any one man's life insurance premium during the term of his services for the Empire. It was decided to accept the generous offer of Mr. Willoughby, and to thank him for same. It was decided that H special insurance committeo be appointed to submit "a scheme to the next executive meeting, Mr. C. H. Osmond being elected convener.
