WORKERS' EDUCATIONAL ASSOCIATION
At tlie monthly meeting of the Workers' Educational Association, Professor T. A. Hunter was in tho chair, and there was a satisfactory attendance of members. The secretary reported that tutorial classes in economics, theory of electricity, and English were now in operation in Wellington, also that a class iu economics, under Mr. B. Murphy, LL.IL, B. Com., had started in Palmerston North. It was resolved to guarantee a sum of iCSO for, tho maintenance of a class in economics fit Petone. A preliminary class in industrial law is to commence work in Wellington immediately, under Mr. G. G. Watson, LL.B. Study circles are also now open for membership, one wider Professor Hunter will deal with "Tho Basis of Society"; the other under Mr. William Foster, M.A., will treat of the' present war, in ' the light of "European History Since IGS9." Membership in these circles is free; in the classes the fee is a nominal one. The usefulness of the . association is rapidly extending in spite of the present adverse conditions. The council has in view the establishment of further classes, but is prevented from doing so for financial reasons.
