FARMERS AND THE WAR
TELEGRAM FROM THE PREMIER.
At tlie animal conference of the Wellington Provincial Branch of the N.Z. Farmers' Union, held, at Levin yesterday, the- Prime Minister's telegram to the president of the conference, in reply to the message from the conference expressing appreciation of the services of the National was read. Tho telegram was as follows:—'"Please accept and convey to the, conference the warm and cordial thanks of the Government for their kindjy expressions approving the National Government's actions in'the Empire crisis. I have had great pleasure in handing your telegram to the Minister of Defence. May I also add that the terms of the resolution also contained in your telegram regarding compulsory service have been July noted by the Government—W. F. Massey."
