INTERNED ALIENS

A statement of the Government's policy with regard to the release of every alien interned, in New Zealand to work for private employers was made by the Defence Minister yesterday. Mr. Allen.said: "The Government ia9 Teleased two enemy aliens from the internment oamps in the Dominion in order that they may accept work from private employers. The persons who employ such prisoners must be well known and of prod repute. Tlie Imperial Government has permitted .some fifteen tftousand prisoners to accept employment under similar conditions out of some twenty-five thousand who applied to be so treated. British prisoners of war in Germany are similarly, treated, with the exception that they haTO to return to the internment tamps every evening." ■ .
