MIRAMAR BOROUGH COUNCIL.
ORDINARY MEETING. The ordinary meeting of the Miramar Borough Council was held on Thursday, the Major (Mr. F; Townsend) presiding. The following were also present: Councillors S. M. Stone, S. H. Underwood; M. Tracy, W. 11. Green, J. Pollock, and H. Hawthorne. Mr. IC. Kobprtshawe made application for the drainage of his property. It was resolved to the request provided he paid halt the cost .of the work, which the engineer (Mr. Fox)- estimated would cost about ,£sl. Mr. Hobertshaw's application to have water laid on was granted. Subject to the approval of the engineer,, the subdivision of certain property- own; ed by Miramar Limited wa- 1 ' agreed to. The secretary of tHe Amalgamated Society of Carpenters . and Joiners wrote asking the council to favourably consider allowing its employees a 10 per cent, war bonus. As no carpenters are employed by the. borough the letter was received. Provided the Post Office authorities agree to pay £5 towards the cost, it was decided to erSct a light outside the Seatoun Post Office. Accounts amounting to .£619 19s.'were passed for payment.
