There was a large attendance at tho Sailors' Friend Society last night, when a programmo of merit was rendered by tho Misses Van Staveren and iarty. Dur. ing the evening .refreshments provided by the entertainers were handed round. The evening terminated with a vote of thanks to the performers, responded to by Miss Van Staveren, The following assisted: Mrs. Flanagan, Misses Van Staveren (2), Webb, and Pearson, Messrs. Flanagan, Keen (Remuora). Zincraft, Miles, and Elvy (Waimato). Mrs. Flanagan was at the piano. ■ ■ '
