A SOCIAL CLUB
FOR TTIBNTHAM MILITARY CAMP. His Worship the Mayor states that as the outcome of a conference between; the. Hon. J. Allen, Minister of Defence, and ••himself, arrangements are now well forward to 1 provide a social club for Trentlam camp on similar lines to the splendid institution at the Featherston camp, which; lias been provided by the generosity of the Wairarapa residents through the Wairarapa Patriotic', Society,: supplemented by a 'contribution from the' Government. ■ ' The estimated cost of the Trentham Club will be ,£3OOO, .£ISOO of which -sum has been .promised by the Government end .£IOOO by the kindly co-operation of ; the ':Y.M:C: A;; leaving -a. sum - of .-£SOO to 'Tw'found'by ithe, general public. . ■ ' Mr. i Luko confidently recommends the appeal to the people : of Wellington and district, and will be glad to xeoeive donations for the above: worthy object.
