GOVERNOR REVIEWS THE THIRTEENTH NEWS AND NOTES The Thirteenth Infantry and Engineer Reinforcements were reviewed by His Excellency tho Governor at Treiit.ham Racecourse yesterday, 'l'he troops were paraded half an hour before the tirao hxed for the inspection. In their preliminary manoeuvres they showed a smartness in movement and a discipline Which left little to be desired, while their appearance on parade was considered to be good. His Excellency was accompanied during his inspection by tlio General Officer Commanding the Forces, Brigadicr-Gene-ral A. W. Robin; the Chief of the General Staff, Colonel C. M. Gibbon; the Director-General of Medical Services, Surgeon-General E, S. P. Henderson; the Adjutant-General, Colonel Tate; Major Sleeman; the Camp Commandant, Lieut.Colonel H. E. Potter; the Camp Adjutant, Captain C. E. Dovey; and Assis-tant-Adjutant. Captain \V. Bell. ' The Royal salute was given in a soldierly way by the troops, and the march past, which was made in column ol platoons instead of the usual column of route, was above tho average in every way, the apparently more difficult form of marching being well done. After the review, His Excellency addressed the officers of the Eeinforcemonto on parade. Appointments at Featherston. The following temporary appointments have been approved by the Camp Commandant at Featherston :— Pte. P. Evans, N.Z.D.C., to be sergeantmechanic; Lce.-Corpl. A. F. Webb, Camp Permanent Band; ■to bo corporal; Ptes. S. Martin and G. Munro, Permanent Band, to be corporals; Pte. E. C. Watson, Permanent Band, to be lance-corporal; Copils. W. G. Porter, J. T. Holland, and H. Thomas, Headquarters Q.M. Stores, to be sergeants; Pte. D. H. A. Chalmers, Headquarters Q.M. Stores, to be corporah; Pte. G. W. Moorhouse, _E Coy., 15th, to Ire orderly-room clerk, with rank of lance-corporal; Pte. J. W. Warwick, 17th M.E.„ to be orderly-room clerk. A.S.C., Supply Depot Establishment— Dvr. W. Hardy to be lance-corporal. C Company, 13th Reinforcements— Sergt.' 0. Sotheran to be coy. sergeantmajor; Corpls. S. R. Barton and C. Miller to be sergenuts. H Company, 13th Reinforcements— Sergt. H. A. Peterson to be coy. ser-geant-major; Corpls. A. J. Moore, A. T. D. Moon, and "W-. E. Oxenham to be sergeants ; Ptes. W. Fulcher and' J. Bruce to be corporals; Ptes. M. P. Ryan, H. W. Parsons, M. Maloney, and S. W. M'Burney to be lance-corporals.

SOLDIERS'CLUB DANCE. . Soldiers of the Thirteenth Reinforcements are reminded of the dunce which takes place in the Sydney Street Club to-night. The Fifth Wellington Regiment Band will be_ in attendance, and the committee, which has made all arrangements for a successful evening, is desirous that those dances should be made as widely known as possible amongst the men in camp.
