ANZAC ARTISTS
In the reception hall of the New Zealand Government Offices ,iu tho Strand there was recently held an exhibition of pictures by Sapper Mooro Jonos, of the New Zealand Engineers, who is nn artist by profession, and who made many topographical sketches of the Imperial and Turkish position while attached to the Army Corps Headquarters at Gallipoli. From these sketches, during his convalescence in England, he has painted a mirabor of water-colour sketches. Tho High Commissioner for New Zealand, fir Thomas Mackenzie, is taking an interest in the nrtist and his work. Meanwhile the pictures of another Auzac, Sig. Ellis Silas, 16th. Batt. A.1.F., were also on view at the Pino Art Society's Galleries, New Bond Street, winning wido recognition and excellent notices from the critics. -The artist has received many delightful letters, too. from people who have attended tho exhibition, expressing thoir admiration and appreciation of his "splendidly tragic drawings."
