FROM A PRISONER IN TURKEY
"DOING WELL, AND HAS HIS LIBERTY" By Telegraph—Press Association. Wanganui, Hay 20. Corporal Earles, of the 2nd Reinforcements, who is now a prisoner in Turkey, ill a postcard to his mother, fays: "Wo are all at Belemedik, working in a German company. I have got a job at my trade, repairing tents. 1 atn well treated and paid enough to live on. Wo are doins well, and have our liberty." The postcard is dated March 5. SPADE AND SHOVEL WORK. By Telegraph —(Special Oorrespondant.) Wanganui, May 21. Mr. W. Surgenor, of Utakebo, has received a cavd from his son William, who was wounded and taken prisoner at Gallipoli early in August last. He writes-. "Am quite well, and working a pick and. shovel at gravel. Our gang consists of 30 men and two cooks. We get paid for the work. I like the camp here,'but have got no news from you yet. Am getting used to lifo here now, and have more money than previously. Wo have the freedom of the village and the district for miles around. Spring is coming on. I live in a l'our-roomed hut, and am fairly comfortable."
