THE CALL FOR MEN
WELLINGTON DOING WELL ■ ~ < On May 2 Wellington. City and-Suburbs' required 103 infantrymen to proceed into camp as jS'o. 5 Group's quota for the Sixteenth Reinforcements. They turned.tp G9 short, however, and it was thought that-there would be considerable difficulty in obtaining the full quota (before' the end of'this month, when the Seventeenth draft will parade for camp. But such, has-not been the case. .Recruiting; uf late has been good indeed, and especially during the past day or two, hence it lias been possible -for the Defence authorities to send 87 men into camp between May 2 (the date on which, the IGths went in) and yesterday. These figures represent 'that 18 men over and above No. 5 Group's quota for the 16th Reinforcements have gone into camj), and that draft as far.. as Wellington is concerned is full. The authorities at BucWc Street anticipate that the Seventeenth Reinforcements will parade at full strength when their time comes..
