SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY
$ At. the Sailors' Friend Society last night, Mr. F. A. Campbell and party provided a remarkably good programme which was received with much enthusiasm. The party, through an oversight, was much strengthened by friends of Sfiss .T. Petrie. A bright evening was brought to a close by an appreciative vote, of thanks to tho performers, responded to by Miss Petrie. The. following rendered .items: Mrs. Wood.Hisses Dodds, Joplin, Chapman, Churchill, Petrie, Smith, Messrs. Robertson. Campbell, Walker, Wood, ami Ross (Cobar). * Misses Dotlds and Caddick were at tho piano.
'The London Central Young Men's Christian Association made arrangements under 1000 men, who by reason of insufficient chest measurement or physiquo aro under ftandard, may receive a free course of physical training for one month, or longer if necessary, in order to fit them for service in His Majesty's forces. About 100 men have already passed thi'OUL'li.
