AT'THE ENTRANCE TO THE - HOSPITAL. In reply to a loiter forwarded by tho Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, asking that certain sections fronting on to Kevans Street, ho vested in Unit board (iiV order that they may be put into some order that would he in keeping with the rest of the Hospital grounds), the Minister of Mental Jlospitals (the Hon. G. W. Russell) replied that the land was an endowment for all time for mental hospitals, and that it was inconsistent with his position as Minister of the Department to make over such property to tho board. The Minister suggested, however, Hint the board may have other lands of equal valuo which could be exchanged for the Revans Street sections. Tn reply to the board's reminder that the sections were covered ill-gorge and rubbish, the Minister snid the matter would be looked into. Tho chairman, in commenting on the letter, slated that the' request would never hove been mndo but for the suggestion of tho Minister' himself. It was Mr. Russell who hail proposed ihe thing. He did not think they had anv land available which was producing nothing as thoso sections were. lie wis glad to hear that the land was to be put in some sort of decent order.
