Y.M.C.A. "SNAPSHOTS FROM HOME."
PROJECT TO HEARTEN OUR SOI/ ; ; DIEES AND SAILORS. Who first hit upon the idea.'of sending snapshots to our soldiers and sailors hit upon one of those snowball ideas which father as they grow. But anybody.'can' hit upon tho. idea; the working' out of a practical scheme. is tlie thing, and here the credit belongs to the Toun? Men's Christian Association.. This ■ organisation has embarked on a network of lvell-do-ing'. For all through the aim of the Y.M.C.A. has been to take up the work of looking after our soldiers ajid to make the spare hours of the fighting forces as cheerful and bright as possible. And the "Snapshots 'From Home" project u going to be n very', great help in this direction. After all, hews • from home i; always better than just news; and nhoto- . graphs from home are better still in keeping up the spirits of the'men and in strengthening their determination to'keep the homeland safeguarded. What the amateur photographers of this country are asked do is to take little ' sheaves of snapshots of the wives and children, the mothers and sweethearts, ' and the homes of the men who have enlisted from their own particular neighbourhood. Each amateur, it 'is hoped, will engage to keep the families of several men of his town or suburbs supplied with such snapshots from time to tims' throughout the year. The prints are not to be posted to the men by the photographers themselves; they are to be given to ths families concerned, for enclosure ij the next letter home, and one niav lx 6ure that that letter will not be long delayed. All amateur photographers wh< are willing to help are requested.to attend the.. Snapshots From Home Leagm meeting, arranged for to-morrow' evening in the Y.M.C.A: rooms, Willis Street.
