BRITISH TRADE WITH NEW ZEALAND.
Sir,—With reference to a notice which has appeared in tho Press regarding a motion proposed to bo introduced by Mr. T. M. Wilford in tho House of Representatives, may I point out in so far as. this notice refers to the functions of my office in New Zealand, that Mr. Wilford is apparently under a misapprehension. It is one of my duties as an officer of the Home Government to report on the Dominion's requirements from a commercial point of view, and the Board of Trade's organisation in London, is concerned with bringing to tho notice of manufacturers such , reports as. may' be sent Home. In case this fact should , not be clearly understood by the commercial oommunity, I should like it to be realised that I am at all times prepared to bring their'requirements to tho notice of the Board of Trado in London, which Department will in turn use every endeavour to. see that these requirements are met.—l am, etc., R. W. DALTON, His Majesty's Trade Commissioner. May. 17. .
