Beacli Thomas, the "Daily Telegraph's" correspondent in France, .writing from British . headquarters, describes the Anzacs' experiences in trench raids. One front-line trench was bombarded furiously For ninety minutes, a moderate iiank bombardment following. The debris half-filled tho trench, and the wire entanglements were blown up. The raiders dashed across the intervening space and picked up relics of the enemy. They were usually in tho trenches under ten minutes. "The Anzacs" has probably been established as a classical and historical title. It is adopted in official reports. As soldiers they have to learu the duty of keeping out of sight of tho sharp-eyed German observers.
