A MESSAGE TO SOLDIERS

Chrisichurch, May 15. The Synod to-ni»lit ordered the following message to soldiers to be dispatched to His chaplain* with the Forces:— "We, the bishops, clergy, and. laity of the Church of the Province of New Zealand, assembled in General Synod, at Christchurch, ask you to greet the soldiers of New Zealand in our names, and tell them we are rjroud of what they have alrendv done-and trust enHrMy f o them to unhokl the honour of God, King and country. Tell them that they are never out of our thoughts, and that they are rememberol before God daily in IV churches-of their own land, together with their comrades wlio have fallen. • Our hearts are with tliem in the dan<rern"S hardships they have to face;, with th? sick and wounded in their sufferings; with the devoted doctors, nurses, and .■*-"- bnlnnee staff: and with all others who minister to their needs. We pray the Almighty to liless them a*>d to hasten the d.iy of glad' reunion and victorv wo". Yonr- own brother ministers, soldiers in spiritual things, wish yoii Godspeed in your work and assure ''Mi of th"i>- deeo sympathy and strong sunnnrt. All your fellow-churclimen pray continually that the strong ha"d of God may l>e upon your ministrations."
