May 14, 5.5 p.m.) London, May IV , General Smuts (Commander-in-Chief in East Africa reports:—"The enemy under von Lettow Forbach, was driven o!f at Kondoa. Irangi on Tuesday night. Suffering, severe losses, the Germans persisted in their offensive throughout Wei neaday and Thursday. After sunset they made a, determined effort against our Jett flank, but were repulsed. . "Our. losses were inconsiderable.. "It is reported that the Belgians, after encountering slight opposition, !;ave reached Kegali."
