..' TRAM CONCESSION TICKETS/ The monthly meeting of the Karon Borwigh Council was .held Inst evening.' the Mayor-(Mr.-■ B. .f. H. .Burn) presiding. The following, were also present:—Conn-J cillors R. Faire.W. C. Cooper, Rv T. 'Pol!, W. Skegg, and T. Lewer. ' . The Tramway Committee reported that the question of increasing the number of-,rides on the cighteenpeuny concession tickets and doing away with the workers' ticket had, been fully, discussed, and it had been decided not tv alter the present arrangement. The report was.adopted. On tho- recommendation of the Tramway Committee it was decided that concession tickets should hot be available on Kp»cM cars to. Karon. It was pointed out that concession tickets are not avail-, able in Hie city on the Sunday morning car to Karori, as itwas recognised as a special car. Mr. G. M. Brigham. the borough engineer, reported that ho and Mr. Gardner, the superintendent of permanent way. had made an inspection of the tram track on- May 5. Prom the cemetery corner to Dix's corner the track was discovered to be.so bad that it was found necessary to. commence repairs on that portion at once. - On account of the shortago of labour, however, the citv's men were.put on to,do the repairs. The rest of the track to the Botanical .Gardens required patching, and the estimated cost tf the work would bo ,£l3O. The extension line was reported to bs in fair order. About £i 0 will, be required to repair certain portions of that line. Accounts amounting to .£2IG IDs. Id. wero passed for payment.
