Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M., presided over a sitting of the Lower Hutt Court y®?' e .rday. Messrs. J. Ciidbv and J. W;lkm,. J.P.'s, were also on the Bench. Jolili A. Anderson and Einilv Douglis were each, fined 20s. and 17s. Qd. costs; for exceeding the speed limit in motor-cars within the Hutt Barongli. llaugi Kprchome, oil a similar charge, was fined 205., with 17s. 6d. costs, and 10s. .interpreter's fee. On two charges, Daplino George was fined 20s. and 17s. 6d. costs on each, and on a third charge 7s. costs only. Wm. Ilenry TrengrovCj_ on two charges, was fined 20s. and 17s. 6d. costs on each.
A prohibition order was granted against John llusli. For being oh licensed premises after 'iioiirs, 'Albert Errington Kxlcy, who was represented by ' Mr. Anderson, ' was lined os. and 7s. costs. Frank Frederikson claimed from W. Dick the sum of £22 lis. Gd.-(l) for damages done to a vehicle; (2) loss of time occasioned by not being able lo use the vehicle; and (3) damages for personal assault. The claim arose out of a dispute 'between the parties as to right-of-way on the Wainui JJill Road last .February. After lengthy, evidence, judgment was given for plaintiff ior £4, with £3 15s. costs. Judgment b.v default was given in the following undefended civil case:— 11. Vv. u'e'stoury v. W. Ward, £4 10s., 7s. costs. In a judgment summon* case, Harry Martin was ordered to pay tho sum of £41 Us. lid. to the State Advances Department on or before .Inly 4, or suffer one month's- imprisonment.
