CIVIL LIABILITIES OF SOLDIERS.
Sir,—l notice in to-day's issue of your valuable paper a report from Engi laud that the British Government is appointing a Special Committee to draw up a scheme to enable enlisted men to meet their civil liabilities. 1 think a similar scheme should bo brought into force in this Dominion, especially as regards insurance premiums, rates, and'mortgage interest. Myself, 1 am married, with a family, and, having had some considerable volunteer experience, I deemed it my duty to enlist, and although I have provided for my wife and family it will be a hard struggle for them while I- am at the front. This matter will have to bo faced sooner or as' the married men will soon have to be drawn on.—• I am, etc., . . ENLISTED. April 20.
