A TRAVELLER'S GRIEVANCE.
Sir,—l was a passenger from Frank* ton to Thor#dou yesterday by the Main Trunk express, and was ratlier disgust* ed at the overcrowding of the trains. From Taihape to Palmerston North I had to stand (although I was troubled with a soro foot). I left my seat for a few moments to get some refreshments, and was rather surprised and disgusted to find' that my belonging? had been shifted from my seat to the rack, and that my seat had been taken. Cannot the Department of Railways supply more carriages ? Are they short of carriages, or is it bad management? Also, I would like to know why pas* seugcrs from Frankton were not allowed to board the ordinary express, but had to wait over an hour in the biting cold for the extra express ? I might mention that tho ordinary express wag not crowded as much as tho extra express. Thanking you. in anticipation for your valuable space,—l am, etc., TRAVELLER. April 22. •
