TO-MORROW'S COMMEMORATION

In accordance with the request of the Prime Minister to observe to-mor-row in remembrance of the brave deeds' of the Australian and New Zealand soldiers at Gallipoli a year ago, the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) asks the citizens of the City to observe to-morrow afternoon as a half-holiday, commencing at 1 o'clock.

A memorial service will be held in tho Town Hall at 3 p.m., at "which the Anglican, Presbyterian, Methodist, Congregational, and Baptist Churches, and the Salvation Army will officiate. The speakers will include the following clergymen:—The Rev. James Gibb, D.D.; the Ho v. A. M. Johnson, M.A.; the Rev. John Dawson;- the Rev. J. Roed Glasson; tho Rev. W. H. Hinton, and Col. Powley (Salvation Army). The hymns to be sung will be: "0 God, our Help in Ages Past,"' "Lead Kmdly Light," and "Lord God of Hosts, Whose Mighty Hand." ' The lessons will be. taken from the Psalms and Corinthians. Mr. H. L. Claughton will preside at the organ, and the musical programme will include the "Dead March" in Saul..

Sold'ers' relatives and other ticket holders will enter by the main entrance, Cuba Street, and the general public by Wakefield Street.

In the evening a patriotic meeting will be held at the Town Hall at whicti the public are invited to, be present to do honour to a great occasion.- The speakers of the evening will be the Prime Minister (the Right Hon. W. F. Massey), the Finance Minister (the Rt. Hon. Sir Joseph Ward), the Mayor (Mr. Luke), and Captain D. Simson. Durinrthe meeting Mr. Luke will subnnt dpfcs&olution seconded by the Hon. T. W.' Hislop, and supported by Councillor A. R. Atkinson.
