Taumarunui, April 19. •At a meeting of the borough ooutt cillors. resolution from the rate* payors 1 meeting calling on the Mayor and councillors to resign was considered. It was resolved by four -votes to three not to resign. Two councillors, were absent. The Mayor explained that' when the balance-sheet was out it would show that the council was in a good financial position. The only trouble was .that rates, etc., were not collected early enough. ,
