MEETING OP CONTROL.
Tlio first committee meeting of the llugbv Union for the current year was held last evening, Mr. D. I). Weir presiding. Mr. D. D. Weir was olected chairman of tho union for tho year. It was decided io support tho following proposal, to be submitted by the Otago Union to tho New Zealand Council:—"That during tho currency of the war, tho penalty in connection with tho non-payment of interest on loans bo not enforced."
A good deal of discussion took place as to whether or not it would bo possible to hold a senior competition this year. Tho opinion among delegates seemed to bo that their clubs could not muster teams sufficiently strong to compoto against tho Trentham teams. It was decided to await further dotails.
Mr. W. G. Talbot was re-elected secretary. It was decided to hold a seven-a-side tournamont at the . opening of . the season. It was left to tho next meeting to arrange details.
