._ Petrograd,. April 17. A Russian communique says: "After desperate fighting in the coastal, region of Caucasia, we drove. the. Turks, who weie supported by artillery, from a strongly organised position of. greatnatural strength on the left bank of the Karadere, sixteen miles east of Trebizond. We are energetically: pursuing the enemy. -
"Yfe repulsed with great loss repeated enemy attacks in the direction of Baiburt."
