FRENCH GUNS AND MUNITIONS
TREMENDOUS INCREASE

London, April 14. Mr. Warner Allen (the British Press correspondent on the Western front) writes as follows concerning the French munitions output:—"Taking the figure 1 as the normal output as in August, 1914, the production of field-gun shells rose to 14 by; May, 1915, to 29 by December; 1015, and to 30} by February, 1916. The output of all the larger shells had increased to 44 by February, 1916, while the production of heavy guns rose to 33 times, and the field guns'to 23 times greater than figures for the first month: The Govern-' ment powder factories' output lias doubled, and the output of tho other establishments is ' now 23 times greater."
