CANTERBURY JOCKEY CLUB'S DECISION. Owing to the Canterbury Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting falling on Anzac I)ay ; April 25, tlio Prime Ministor (Right Hon. W. F. Massey) telegraphed to the club yesterday asking if. they could seo fit to postpone the second day of their races oil Easter Tuesday, and thus obviate a clash with Anzac Day. In answer the following was received from Mr. Wanldyii, secretary of the Canterbury Jockey Club:—"At your request the committee' has postponed 'luesday's races." „ T ilr - Massey telegraphed to Mr, Wanklyn m reply:— "On behalf of Government, I desire to thank you for your .tele- - gram informing me, at my request, that the Cantorburj r Jockey Club ' has agreed to postpone its meeting, which was to have been held, on. Easter Tuesday, and which, unfortunately, clashed with Anzac Day.I highly appreciate the club's courtesy and consideration in postponing the meeting, and I am quite sure that what the club has dono in respect to the meeting will meet the approval -of the great major- , ity of the people of the Dominion* - (Signed) \v.
