RECRUITING FIGURES BEING EXAMINED By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. April 14, 8.45 p.m.) London, April 13. Many military officers, also Mr. R. M'Kenna, Lord Lansdowne, and Mr. Austen Chamberlain, attended the Cabinet Committee examining recruiting. The "Pall Mall Gazette" believes that unless an extraordinary and unexpected change occurs in the situation, Cabinet will decide in tho meantime against extending compulsion to married men. DISCUSSION TO BOTH HOUSES. COMPULSION WITHOUT DELAY. (Rcc. April 14, 8.45 p.m.) London, April 13.Lord Milner has given notice to move in tho House of Lords favouring general compulsion without delay. Thus tho question will bo debated both in tho House of Lords and the House- of Commons before Easter. AN OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT. (Rec. April 14,'8.45 p.m.) London, April 13. Mr. Asquith stated in the House of Commons that he hoped to announce next week the rosults of the examination of the recruiting figures and the numbers obtauiable under general pulsion.
