An Italian communique'says: "The enemy, by a surprise attaok, rushed our positions in tho Ledro Valley, and also took Mount Sperone. By counter-at-tack we recovered the positions after a deadly hand-to-hand struggle, extending our occupation to the slopes o{ Sper'ono. "We wrecked the enemy's trenches at St. Miohele-Sanmartino with handi bombs. ... "There were artillery duels along tha whole Carso front." --
