' Plenty of Marching. The troops in Featherston Camp' are given plenty .of marching.jus' now. On Monday several companies of the 12th marched to the rifle range at Papawai and back, while > others engaged t in route marches on the roads about the camp. A. large-proportion of the 13th have ' adopted "snorts" in lieu of tho regulation trousers. 1 Tlie decision in the matter was left to the men, and a ballot was taken in each company. The mornings are cold and frosty just now, and tho days are fairly..h<St. The wearers of "shorts" find them decidedly light wear ; for morning and evening, but during the day, especially when route marching, the men in "shorts"' have a decided'advantage. The 13th are regarded as a fine lot of men, ' rather high-spirited, but hard workers. : They go on extended leavo this week, and the 12th at Featherston and the 14th at Trentham exchange places.
