TOWN HALL CLOCK.
Sir,—Kindly allow me a little space for the following:—lt was mentioned at a recent meeting of the Town Council that there was £ISO in hand, which amount was to go towards purchasing a suitable clock for the tower of the Town Hall. Now, sir den't you think that .thero shovrid he no further delay in tins matter of getting a clock placed in the tower of our City Hall'P Could there not be one or two grand concerts or organ recitals given which would be the means of getting the required amount .together, so that tlie Town Hall and its tower could be looked upon as a place of interest? Can .invbodv ook upon the said building without battlefield m France? The tower, with! ts.wooden dials now, must remind the visitor' as well as it does the citizens flf v o, nt l ltlon , of s °. me of the buildings which have been wrecked by shell It certainly will greatly add to the attractions 0 f our city when this clock is Placed above the hall, and giving forth its chimes and the long looked for W -lam, etc., CHIMES THE TIMES
