MOUNT COOK SCHOOL
On Tuesday evening last the Mount Cook School Committee ,met for the last time prior to the annual meeting of householders,'"which is to be held on April 17. Acc'bunts to the amount of £21 3s. 3d. were passed for payment. During the past week the schools have all been ■ thoroughly fumigated, under the direction of the Health Department, and fevery night in each school the floor is sprinkled with sawdust thoroughly saturated with euseptol. Steps aro being taken' to secure a suitable apparatus for spraying the walls, ceiling, and furniture of all the rooms daily. Quite recently the board erected new ceilings throughout the Boys' School, which makes for' comfort and cleanliness. , ■ The Girls' School reports an increase in the attendance for the March quarter, of the year compared with the corresponding ounrtor of 1915. The Boys' and Infants' Schools show a very small decrease for the same period, but this is doubtless accounted for by many parents keeping their children at homo for fear of the infantile paralysis epidemic.
