WAR AGAINST GOPLIN MOTH.
Sir,—Having seen in Saturday's Dominion that the codlin moth has been very destructive this year in North' Otago and Oamara districts, I enclose tho particulars of a remedy which Mr. Adams, sen., of tho Lower Hutt, haa proved very effective when attended to properly, for he only lost about 1 per cent., after giving it a proper trial, There is no need of any spraying; it is simple, cheap, and easy to , apply, and all fruit growers should give it a trial. The Remedy. ■ Dissolve one- tablespoonful of treaela or syrup in one quart of hot water, then add three-quarters tablespoonful of vinegar, mix thoroughly, ahd then one-third fill pickle bottles with the mixture, and hang one in each fruit tree, commencing about a fortnight before they come into blossom, and when the bottles get three-parts filled with moths and other insects empty them and renew tie fluid.—l wn, eto., ALEXR. WATERS. April 3, 1916.
