MOVEMENT IN WELLINGTON Among the, visitors to Wellington at present is Colonel J. L. Wheelar, of Havelock North, a gentleman who has taken a very keen interest in war matters in his district, and is the secretary of the Napier Branch of the English Anti-German League, which has for its objects the obliteration of German trade and German interests of any kind within the Empire. One of the reasons for his visit to Wellington is to endeavour to stir up enough interest in Wellington to establish a branch of the league here, in order that a complete circuit of branches may be established throughout the country as part of the • scheme that is to interest every'town and city within the British Empire. The English League was founded by Mr. E. J. B. Chatterton; its iion. secretary is Mr. W. G. Chudleigh, and the committee consists of the Earl of Mexborough, General Sir Geo. B. Wokeley, G.C.8., K.C.8., Lady Sumner, Lady Larcom, Countess Eleanor Murphy, the Lord Mayor of Dublin, and the Mayors of Paddington and Bermondsey. In Nar pier the president is Mr. A. L. Beattie (late Chief Mechanical Engineer of the N.Z. Railways),! and-the vice-presidents are Messrs. Bernard Chambers, T. Crosse, T. H. Lowry, Godfrey Pharazyn, Hon. Dr. R. M'Nab, and the Mayor of Hastings/
