RED CROSS SOCIETY
EXECUTIVE MEETING. A meeting of tUo men's oxecutive ot the New Zealand branch of the Red Cross Society and tbo Order of St. John was held at tho Accountants' Chambers last night. Mr. T. Young was appointed chairman of the executive, and presided at tho meeting. Mr. JL W.' Harris attended as a representative of the St. John Ambulance Brigado, and oxplained the work dono by the body from a depot, which had been established in Nathan's Buildings. The brigade was prepared to assist tno lied Cross Sooioty, but exception was taken to the method of electing delegates. The brigado was anxious ,jhat the name ol' St. John should not be lost sight of. The meeting thanked Mr. Harris for his explanation, and welcomed tho assistance of tho brigade. Mr. J. W. Bridge was appointed secretary 1 to tho executive, while Mr. Joseph Joseph was appointed to the office of treasurer. Considerable discussion took place on the question of establishing a central depot, where ladies could carry on the work of tho society. Eventually it was decided to take over premises in Lower Cuba Street—known as the Dental Building, and lately occupied b.v Itobert Malcolm, Ltd.
