KARORI BOROUGH COUNCIL
ORDINARY MEETING,
At last night's meeting of tho Karori Borough Council, tlio Mayor (Mr. 13. G. 1:1. Burn) presided, and ttero wcro also present: Councillors a. Hamilton, L. I.'. Davios, T. W. J. G. Rnine, <f. W. Henderson, W. 0. Cooper, 11. T. Poll, and W. Sltogg. A brief discussion toolc place in Tcgard to tho solicitors' expenses incurred in connection with the collection of rates. Tho Town Cleric stated that ho had advised tho solicitors that in future only olio lotfcor should bo written to ratepayers failing to comply with the ordinary iiotico, and that if tho letter did not bring a satisfactory reply a summons should issue. Tho action of tho clerk was approved.
Tho Borough Engineer (Mr. G. W. "Brig'liam) was granted lcavo of absence to attend the conference of engineers to bo held at Christchurch on May 10 and 11. It was decided to allow him tlio usual amount for expenses connected with the trip.
