MR. FREDERIC COLEMAN, WAR LECTURER
'•Thoy may be able to kill those fellows—they'll never beat them I" Mr. Frederic Coleman- heard this remark tall from the lips' of a famous old British General as he sat in the saddle with tear* streaming down his cheeks, and watched the long stream of exhausted and dilapidated troops that trailed . past him—all in.the best of spirits, joking about life and death and casual details. "This fine spirit," says Mr. Coleman, "animates the whole of the British Army in. France.," A Melbourne paper describes Mr. Coleman's lecture as '.'a ; soul-stirring experience. It brought home to the audience ina. manner no written words could have done, the rush, the fieroism, the wonderful endurance; and courage of our army that marked - those first weeks of the war, thrillinghis hearers." As ho himself says:—"lt makes one proud just to. belong •to ■ the Anglo-Saxon I'ace " Many little humorous touches which came to his notice are related. There is a' personal sympathetic touch right through that is convincing. . His matter is of enthralling interest, and, as before said, of stirring quality. Sir, Coleman, who is an international journalist of repute, and an old campaigner, bad unique opportunities of witnessing the stupendous struggles'on the Western front, as he was attaohed to the Headquarters Staff as a' member of. the Royal Automobile Club Corps, and came into personal tonchwith many distinguished officers. He will deliver his first lecture in New Zealand'at the Town Hall next Saturday evening, and the series will be continued on the following Tuesday and Thursday evenings.' The plans willbe opened at the Bristol Piano Co. to-mor-row morning.- '"'■■:
