J. and N:.;Tait announce 'that' they have arranged for Mr. Ashmead Bartlett, the famous war correspondent, to give. two war lectures in the Town Hall on April 13 and April 15. llr, Ashmead Bartlett is well known through his dispatches from the Dardanelles, and his vivid descriptions of the landing and ..subsequent operations at Gallipoli provided one of the sensations of the campaign. . Mr. Barlletfs lectures : will be entitled "With the Anzacs at .the Dardanelles," and will be a. story of the Gallipoli campaign from the inception, in particular dealing* with the Australian and New Zealanders' part of the campaign. Besides'describing the operations of our troops at the .Dardanelles, Mr. Bartlett. tells, how the British fleet attached the Narrows. He was in .turn on H.M.S. London, the Swiftsure, and the Majestic. .He was on the last-named battleship when it was torpedoed, and his own rescue and .that, of the officers and men stirs, the imagination to'a marked degree. Concerning the situation in the Balkans. Mr. Bartlett has an intimate knowledge of the conditions in ' Bulgaria, Serbia, and Greece, for he was a war correspondent in the Graeco-Turkisli, the Italian war in Tripoli, and the first- and second Balkan conflicts; in addition he also went.through the Rufso-J.tpinese, French and .Spanish campaigns in Morocco, and served as an. officer in the South African war. To illustrate his lectures, Mr. Bartlett uses two large iriaps of the Gallipoli Peninsula, and about 150 unique views, which he took himself on the spot. . Not the least entertaining part of his lectures will be the review of the present situation, of. the war on all fronts. The box plans will be available at the Bristol on Saturday, April 8. ,
