LOCKED IN PACK ICE

London, March 25. Lieutenant 'Stenhouso continued: "When driven from her moorings, the Aurora became lockcd in pack ico, and this set north along the coast around Cape Aclare to west of the Balleny Islands. After escaping serious injury for over ten weeks misfortune, overtook her on July 21. Wo wcro then aboutninoty miles south of Coulman Island, when the Aurora was heavily nipped by enormous ice pressure, and lost her rudder; and the hull was 'severely strained. It was not until March 14 this year that the Aurora got free of tho ice. This was in latitude 64.30
south, longitude 161 east, after a dirft south and'eastwards of twelve hundred miles.
