Competition <iH through WG3 sound, and they succeeded in disposing of practically all lots under the hammer at sati6fa<Uory rates. The sales made were as under.—Good 6liorn lambs, 335. 9d.; sound-mouth ewee, 30a. 9<1.; ev.'es, 15s. Bd. to 16s. 3d.; fonvard ewes, 195.; two-tooth wethers, 21s. 4d.; heavy fat cows, £9 to £9 lPfj.; medium fat cows, £7 ss. to £0; forward fitore c.ows, £5 ss. to £6 lis.; three-year-old bulloclis, £11 ss. Messrs. Dalgcty and Company, Limited, report having held a good yarding of sheep and cattle at the Levin sale on Wednesday. • Bidding was slow, and a number of lines offered in sheep were pUsscd in unsold, owing to tho reserves in a number of cases being on the high side. There \ra6 a good inquiry for steers and fat cattle, and satisfactory sales were made of these; also in fat slieep there was good competition, and all lines offered sold readily. The principal sales were: as under:—Forward ewes, 18s. 6d. to 18s. lid.; cull ewes, lis. to 125.; two-tooth wethers, 205.; fat ewes, 225., 23c. 4d., 235. 6d.; vealers. 355.; light-weight fat cows, £7 14s. to £7 195.; store cows. £5 to £5 76. 6d.; cows and calves, i£6 155.; three-year-old- buHocks. £11 155.; two-year-old speyed heifers, £5 7s. 6d.; springing cows, £8 106. A line of 15 springing heifers* were offered and keen competition resulted at prices ratfging from £8 15e. to £10.
Messrs. -W. and G. Turnbull and Co., Ltd., report having held, their weekly sale in their Waipoua (jraeterton) yards on "Wednesday. A,big yarding-of sheep came frward, about double the number advertised, and met with very keen competition throughout the Eale, consequently ft good clearance was made at the following prices:—On account Ti Nui Station, twotooth ewes, 225. 7d.: four-tooth ewes, 255. Bd.; six-tooth ewes, 245. Id.;«on account of other "Vendors—Fat, forward, ewes, 19s. to 19s. Id.; two, four, and six-toofch wethers, 225. to'22s. 6d.; two-tooth wethers, 225. Id.; small, 18s.; two-tooth b.f. ewes and-wethers, 2C«.; two-tooth ewes and wethers, 21s. to 245. Id.; four, six, and eiglit-tooth ewes, 21s. Ad.-, f.ra. ewes, 18s. 6d;, 195., to 20s. 5d.; lowcondition, • 15s. 2d.; b.f. lambs, good, 16s. to 17s. 9d.: medium, 12s. 9d. to 13. 3d.; small, 6s. Ad. to Bs. 4d.: -woolly lambs,.lis. 3d.; f.m. ewes, low condition, 6s. 9d., 10s. Bd., 10s. 9d., 125., to 15s. 7d. Store cows and heifers, £5; mixed calves, 265. to 355.
