The wheat market .remains much the same, but a, little more distinction is mo.de between the different' varieties of wheat, Thero is more inquiry, for Hunters and Pearl, which are reported to be scarce. The bulk of the wheat offering is Tuscan, worth 4s. to 4s. 2d„ according to quality and condition. Hunters,' 4s. 3d. to 4b. 4d.; Pearl, to 4s. sd. at country stations. Thero is not a large quantity Of wheat offering. Further threshing returns are awaited to see how the crop is turning out. The Minister of Agriculture states that . the threshing returns so far are praotioally the same as the Departmental estimate, which latter was based on the total area sown, while the threshing returns show tho yield from the area reaoed. A considerable area of wheat in Canterbury and North Otago was fed off. The oats market is still quiet, with little offering. There is no change in oatsheaf chaff or potatoes.i . ~"• WHEAT.
