The New Zealand Loan end McToaotile Agency Co., report:—At the Woodville yards on March 6, a good proportion of sheep wore brought forward, of which tliero was a full yarding, but owing, to the continued dry spell •of weather in this district sheop of all olasscs met a- very dragging sale. VjTo quote:—Four and fiveyear ewes, 16s. 6cK to 215.; frvc-ycar eves, 18s.; two-tooth ewes, 18s. 6d. to 225. 6d.; twotooth wethers, 19s. to 235.: fat owq's. 15s. 6d. to 21s. 6d.; rape lambs (shorn), 'Ms. to 116. M.i rape lambs (woolly), 12s. 6d.; rams, 12s. 6d. to 3gns.; fat and forward steers (two end a half year), £8 10s. to £9 155.; two and a half-year empty heifers, £4 10s. to Jf-5j wcaner steers, 16s. to 305.; weaner heifers, 12s. 6d. to 255.; fat cows, £4 10s. to £7 10s.; forward cows, £4 ,2e. 6d. to £5; bulls, £5 10s. to £8.; porkors, 225. to 505.; Email pigs, 10s. to 12s 6d. The New Zealand Loan mid Mercantile Agency Company reports:—Wo held our usual monthly sale at tho Makotuku yards on March 15, when there was a fair yarding of both sheep and cattle. There was a good attendance of the public, and bidding for all classes of stock was of a Bpirited nature, and practically the whole yarding was cleared at the- following rates:—Four-year good-skinned ewes, from 19s. to 245. 6d.; five and 6ix-year ewes, 15a.' 6d. jto 215.; good woolly rapo lambs. 12s. 6d. to 145.; good shorn rape lambs, 9s. to 13s. 3d.; fat ewes, 18s. to 21s. lhe- New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report having held their Usual weekly sale at the Millar's Boad salcyards, Dannevirke, on March 10, when there was a good yarding of sheep, hut a small yarding of cattle, to a'large attendance of buyers. Competition was keen for eU'olaseos.of good sheep, and prices were well maintained at late rates. 'Cattle were hard to sell owing to the quality not being too good. The prides realised wero: Half bred wethers, 10s. 9d. to 18s. 7d.; full-mouthed merino wethers to ss. 9d.
